Downtown Cabo's beloved mission—Mexico meets Little Italy, secret garlic sauce, tequila from the barrel. Misiones de Kino has been feeding Cabo San Lucas since owner Israel Vazquez arrived from Veracruz in 1996 with a vision to merge Mexican and Italian cooking in a venue styled after the early Baja missions. Set in a converted Spanish mission interior, the restaurant is known for Israel's Secret Garlic Sauce—a bold chili-herb white sauce draped over seafood, chicken, and pasta—and for being the only place in Cabo that serves tequila straight from the wood barrel. Tortilla soup is a cult order; the mixed kabob and whole red snapper are perennial favorites. Closed Sundays.
